FIREARM AND NFA ITEM TRANSFERS

OnPoint facilitates firearm transfers. This is the transfer of firearms to and from other Federal Firearms License (FFL) holders.  We offer this service to our members and non-members.

OnPoint strives to provide a smooth and efficient firearm transfer experience. The timely and successful completion of your transfer is ultimately your responsibility. This includes confirming that you are legally eligible to own a firearm, ensuring all required documentation and identification are accurate and current, and contacting us at info@aimonpoint.com if you have not heard from us at any stage of the process.

Phone calls and speaking with someone at the store are not substitutes for emailing us at info@aimonpoint.com.

OnPoint’s role in the transfer process is limited to receiving, logging, and lawfully transferring firearms in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws. We do not manage or oversee your firearm purchase with a third-party seller.

Firearms transferred to OnPoint are expected to both arrive and be picked up within 30 days

Firearms remaining beyond 30 days will incur storage fees.

Any firearm left at OnPoint for more than 90 days will be considered abandoned unless alternate arrangements have been made in advance and approved by management.

By using our transfer services, you acknowledge and agree to all OnPoint firearm transfer policies published on this page.

If you do not agree to these policies, please arrange your transfer with another Federal Firearms Licensee. Initiating an ATF Form 4473 constitutes acceptance of these policies.

The cost for this service is:

$30/per firearm for OnPoint members

$45/per firearm for non-members who possess and utilize a valid North Carolina Concealed Carry permit.

$60/per firearm for non-members who require a background check.

To receive a firearm in North Carolina:

You must be a North Carolina resident and have a North Carolina ID that is valid and current, that is, the address on the ID matches where you currently live. If using a North Carolina Concealed Carry Permit, the address on it must match your North Carolina ID. If they do not match, then the transfer will require a NICS background check.

Non-U.S. citizens may purchase firearms if they are legal residents (Green Card holders) and a resident of North Carolina or are a lawfully present nonimmigrant alien with a valid hunting license/permit and have resided in North Carolina for at least 90 days. Both will need to pass a NICS background check.

If you would like to have a firearm transferred to OnPoint for pick up:

Please send an email to orders@aimonpoint.com to make us aware of the incoming transfer. We do not respond to these emails. They are a reference tool in case the shipper does not include the buyer contact information. If you have a specific question or arrangement for firearms storage, then please email us at info@aimonpoint.com.

Please ask the transferring FFL to send an email to orders@aimonpoint.com containing the following information:

·      A copy of the selling dealer’s Federal Firearms License or their contact information

·      Your name, address, telephone number, and email address

·      Make, Model and serial number of the firearm being transferred to OnPoint

Please wait for OnPoint to contact you regarding the pick-up of your transfer.

Once the firearm arrives it can take 24-48 hours for us to process the firearm and enter it into our system.

Once contacted, please be sure to bring the appropriate and necessary documentation with you when you come to pick up the firearm:

Valid state issued identification (Driver’s license, state ID card, etc.)

Valid North Carolina Concealed Carry Card if you have one. We will perform a NICS background check otherwise.

You will be required to complete the ATF form 4473 for all incoming transfers.

Transfer Process Requirements:

When you come to transfer or purchase a firearm you will be required to fill out an ATF Form 4473 and pass a NICS background test (unless you have a current North Carolina Concealed Carry Permit).

Our Firearm Transfer Policies:

·      If you have a firearm transferred to OnPoint and you disqualify yourself when filling out the Form 4473, OnPoint will only return the firearm to the original transferring FFL. You must make the arrangements for the return of firearm and will be subject to $45 transfer fee in addition to any shipping charges not provided from the original shipper.

·      If you have a firearm transferred to OnPoint and you are denied by NICS in your background check and you feel this is in error, we will provide you with an appeal form with instructions that you will need to follow to resolve the situation. If the denial is not overturned, then OnPoint will only return the firearm to the original transferring FFL. You must make the arrangements for the return of firearm and will be subject to a $60 transfer fee in addition to any shipping charges not provided from the original shipper.

·      When a firearm is transferred to OnPoint, we will phone you letting you know that it has arrived. We will either speak to you or leave you a voicemail. Please make sure your order has a current phone number on it.  We will not call repeatedly. If you do not hear from us within a few days of when you expect it to arrive than please send an email with the make and model of the firearm and the name of the sending FFL to info@aimonpoint.com requesting an update. Though not common, sometimes old or wrong phone numbers are applied to orders by the seller.

·      To avoid potential straw purchases, only the sender of a firearm can change the name of the person who will receive the firearm.  Additionally, only the individual listed on the order may do the firearm transfer.

·      Phone calls and speaking with someone at the store are not substitutes for emailing us at info@aimonpoint.comAll communication related to firearm transfers must be documented in email.

If you purchase a firearm from OnPoint and the NICS background check is denied, the transaction will be cancelled. If you are delayed, the purchase will be completed, and we will alert you when we are notified of a change of status. OnPoint will not transfer a firearm without a proceed on a background check.

If the background check results are delayed 30 days, we will provide you with an appeal form with instructions on how to resolve the situation. OnPoint will only provide a refund for the purchase (minus a 25% restocking fee) if the appeal is denied for a reason other than one of the disqualifying criteria listed above.

ABANDONED INBOUND TRANSFERS
