Our two-day CCH course is the most comprehensive in North Carolina. You will learn all fundamentals in our Handgun 1 and 2 courses, as well as legal requirements, basic handgun maintenance and practical application of tactics in our state-of-the-art non-lethal shoot house.

Description
This class is designed for those who want to carry a concealed handgun, but are not yet comfortable drawing from a holster or shooting from concealment. Intro to EDC combines the skills from our Level 2 classes with a focus on how to draw safely and proficiently from both open and concealment. We will also review different carry methods and tips for developing a good concealed carry lifestyle. By the end of the class, you should feel more comfortable with your ability to present and shoot your handgun from the holster, and understand the variables involved in concealed carry. This class will also prepare you for greater challenges in our Everyday Carry class.

  • OPTION 1: a valid CCH permit or valid CCH training certificate (any school)
  • OPTION 2: completion of Onpoint Level 1 classes (1A, 1B)

Every Day Carry 2

Description
Our Everyday Carry class builds on the fundamentals developed in our CCH class, with a focus on how to routinely carry and, if necessary, employ your handgun in realistic defensive scenarios. Training includes drawing from concealment, advanced skills development on the range, and challenging force-on-force scenarios in our shoot house.

Pre-Requisites
  • OPTION 1: Successful completion of OnPoint CCH Class
  • OPTION 2: Successful completion of OnPoint Handgun Levels 1 & 2
  • OPTION 3: Successful completion of the OnPoint holster certification (certified by an OnPoint instructor) and successful completion of the Triple Nickel Drill - 5 rounds, in 5 seconds at 5 yards from the holster. All shots must be inside the 8" circle on an IDPA target. The shooter will get no more than two chances to complete this drill.
  • Shooters wishing to pre-qual should come in prior to signing up for the course and ask to speak to an instructor. Those unable to complete the pre-qual should consider signing up for the 2-day CCH course.
  • Anyone taking this course must have the ability to safely and efficiently draw thier handgun from a belt-mounted holster.
  • Questions regarding pre-qualifications should be directed to our Director of Training.

Description
The dust is brushed off and it’s time to get after it! Taking what you’ve learned it’s time to challenge and test your skills. Handgun 3 will cover Type 3 malfunction clearances and handgun failure drills, shooting from kneeling position, shooting with your non-dominant hand, techniques for low-light engagements, how to utilize cover and introduce new shooting drills to help you further improve everything you have learned.

Let’s add another tool to your skillset. Our AR course will start building your fundamental understanding of rifle safety, nomenclature, basic operation and how to zero your AR-15 on the range. Once you have the basics down, we’ll begin to move into proper stances, engagement sequencing and how to conduct bolt-lock re-loads all while shooting targets at close range.

Shotgun 1

Description

Shotgun 1 will introduce students to the basics of defensive shotgun nomenclature, ammunition, operation, loading, reloading, and patterning. We will help develop your understanding, capabilities, and limitations of your shotgun inside 25 yards.

Pre-Requisites
Each student must bring their own shotgun for use in the class.

  • A pump or semi-auto shotgun, 12 gauge or 20 gauge, equipped with iron sights (bead, open or ghost ring) or a red dot, and minimum 3-round magazine tube. Shotguns with a detachable box magazine are discouraged for use in this class. Any size choke is acceptable.
  • Shotguns MUST have a stock. A shotgun with only a pistol grip is not acceptable. Shotguns with folding or wire stocks are strongly discouraged.

Home Defense Concepts 1

Description

Unavoidable threats sometimes come to our homes, workplaces, places of worship and schools.

The Home Defense Concepts 1 (HDC1) class will introduce you to the defensive pistol concepts and considerations inside your home. 

Beginning in the classroom, you will review:

  • Storage of firearms for ease of access
  • Legal considerations of storage of firearms
  • Flashlight access and principles of use
  • Target recognition fundamentals
  • Defensive mindset
  • Use of cover, use of concealment
  • Introduction to defend/barricade in place

  • Engagement and sequencing
  • Post engagement concepts

Your training will continue in our Challenge House with practical applications of:
  • Effectively and efficiently accessing your firearms.   
  • 911 call protocols and best practices
  • Tactical use of flashlight 
  • Target recognition, backstop and what’s beyond 
  • Defending in place
  • Cover vs. concealment and their uses
  • Situational awareness at home
  • Multiple location-based scenarios including; bedroom, living room and open spaces.

Our Challenge House training scenarios utilize Simunitions™ against simulated threats. 

Pre-Requisites

Successful completion of any one of these; OnPoint Handgun 1, CCH or Triple Nickel drill. Direct any questions regarding pre-requisites to the OnPoint Director of Training.

Notes

    This class does NOT encourage anyone to clear a structure by themselves. To the contrary, it is about learning and applying the fundamental elements of mindset and tactics in a close, indoor environment. 

    The class builds on principles discussed in our Concealed Carry Handgun (CCH) and Every Day Carry (EDC) classes and will be a pre-requisite for future scenario-based force-on-force training at OnPoint.

RESCHEDULING/CANCELLATION POLICY

In the event you need to cancel or reschedule your event or class, please contact us at events@aimonpoint.com.

Rescheduling an event or class:

There is no rescheduling fee if done more than 48 hours before the event or class begins.

Requests to reschedule made within 48 hours of the start of the event or class will experience a rescheduling fee of $25.

Cancelling an event or class:

There is no cancellation fee if done more than 48 hours before the event or class begins.

Cancellations made within 48 hours of the start of the event or class will be refunded 50% of the fee for the event or class.

Event or Class No Shows:

Participants who fail to notify OnPoint of their intentions to not attend events or classes will receive no refund on the event or class.
